Aris grew up watching his grandfather's hands move through strands of rattan with an ease that seemed almost effortless — bending, looping, tightening, until raw fibre slowly became something whole. It wasn't until years later that Aris understood just how much skill lived in those hands.
Now, Aris carries that same craft forward. He weaves in an open-air workshop, surrounded by coiled rattan and half-finished baskets, blending the traditional techniques he inherited with his own instinct for form and function. Each piece he makes is shaped as much by tradition as it is by his own hands.
"The forest provides, we create," Aris reflects — a simple philosophy that shapes everything he weaves: respect for the material, and pride in what it becomes.
