Our Story

A Little Girl, A Big Journey

Rimba Roots began with a mother holding her daughter's tiny hand at
an airport — a three-year-old girl from South East Asia, stepping
bravely into a new world. She carried no suitcase of memories, only
the colours of home tucked quietly into her heart: the warmth of the
rainforest, the rhythm of batik, the stories whispered through
generations.

That moment — a small hand gripping tightly, a mother guiding gently
— became the beginning of a story about heritage, courage, and love.

To honour her daughter's journey, the mother created Rimba, a baby
orangutan who embodies the child's spirit: gentle, brave, curious,
and deeply rooted in where she comes from. Rimba represents the part
of her that never left home, even as she learned to belong somewhere
new.
